Ingredients

For Marination

  1.     Chicken – 500 grams (cut it like strips)
  2.     Corn flour – 1 tablespoon
  3.     Maida – 1 tablespoon
  4.     Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  5.     Salt – 2 pinch

For Masala

  1.     Oil – 3 + 3 tablespoons
  2.     Maida – 1 tablespoon
  3.     Onion – 1 medium sized
  4.     Garlic – 5 cloves
  5.     Cashew nuts – 8 or 10
  6.     Red Chilli – 2
  7.     Capsicum – 1/4
  8.     Ketchup – 2 tablespoon
  9.     Soya sauce – 1 tablespoon
  10.     Green chilli sauce – 1 tablespoon
  11.     Pepper – 1 pinch
  12.     Salt – 1 pinch

Things to be done before we start cooking

  •   Peel the skin of 5 cloves of garlic, chop them to smaller pieces.
  •   Cut the cashew nuts into smaller pieces.
  •   Take 1 medium sized onion, peel the skin, chop them to thin slices.
  •   Take 1 capsicum, cut and take 1/4 of it, chop the ¼ portion to thin slices.

Steps to Prepare

1 Take a bowl with 500 grams of chicken strips, then add the below –

  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Corn flour – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Maida – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon

Mix it well and leave it for 10 minutes (Marination process).

2 Place a pan on the big burner, turn the flame to high mode.

Pour in 500 ml of oil and let it get hot (for deep frying the chicken).

3 Again, lets add the below to the marinated chicken in bowl –

  • Maida – 1 tablespoon
  • Oil – 3 tablespoons
  • Mix them well

4 Once oil get hot, start putting in the chicken pieces one by one, Turn flame to medium mode.

Fry the chicken pieces for 4 or 5 minutes. (in this time interval, chicken pieces get cooked to 75%).

Repeat the steps to fry all the chicken pieces. Place the fried chicken in a separate plate.

5 Place another frying pan on the burner, turn on the flame.

Pour in oil – 3 tablespoons, let the oil get hot.

6 Once oil is hot, turn the flame to LOW mode, then put in –

  • Garlic – 5 cloves (cut into smaller pieces)
  • Cashew nuts – 8 or 10 (cut into smaller pieces)

Stir for 40 seconds.

Now, add the thinly cut onion (1 medium sized onion). Stir till onions become a little soft, no need to fry till they turn light brown.

8 Then, add 2 red chillies (broken into 2 parts). Stir a little.

Then add thinly sliced capsicum pieces (1/4 cut from one whole capsicum).

Stir well for 30 seconds.

Put in –

  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tablespoons
  • Soya sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilli sauce – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Pepper – 1 pinch

Stir well for 10 seconds.

10 Now, put in the fried chicken into the frying pan with onion and other contents. Stir well.

Let the contents get cooked in low flame for 2 minutes.

That’s all guys, our Mongolian chicken is ready to be tasted.
