Chicken is the favorite non veg option for most of us – preparing kebabs is a easy process against what you have always thought. Lebanese kebab can be prepared with very little ingredients and in easy steps with just the pan and stove that we have in our kitchen. Lets see how to make it in easy steps.

Ingredients

  1.     Chicken – 250 grams (boneless)
  2.     Kasuri Methi – 1/2 tablespoon
  3.     Oregano – 1/4 tablespoon
  4.     Chilli Flakes – 1/4 tablespoon
  5.     Garlic powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  6.     Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  7.     Ginger powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  8.     Curd – 3 tablespoon
  9.     Salt – 2 pinch
  10.     Oil – 3 tablespoons

Things to be done before we start cooking

  1. Cut the chicken pieces to medium sized ones – then wash and clean the 250 grams of boneless chicken, keep it aside in a bowl to dry.
  2. If we are not having the ginger powder or garlic powder – then no worries – we can prepare a paste –
    • Take ginger the size of 1 cm, peel the skin, crush it with a stone or “mortar and pestle”.
    • Take 4 gloves of garlic, peel the skin and crush it along with the ginger paste (prepared in above step).

Steps to Prepare

1.     Place a flat pan on the burner, turn on the stove. Let the pan get a little hot.

2.     Sprinkle half a tablespoon of kasuri methi on the hot pan. Let it get fried a little for 10 to 15 seconds. Now our kasuri methi would be crispier. Immediately transfer it to a dry plate. With our fingers, start crushing the crispy kasuri methi to a fine powder. Keep it aside for now.

3.      Take the chicken pieces in a wide mouth bowl. Sprinkle the powdered kasuri methi over the pieces.

4.     Then, lets add the below mentioned things to the chicken –

  • Oregano – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Chilli flakes – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Ginger powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • (or) add the ginger garlic paste (instead of ginger/garlic powder) that we have prepared.
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1/8 tablespoon (2 pinch)
  • Curd – 3 tablespoons

Let’s start mixing the contents well with hand or spoon.

5.     Keep the chicken pieces to marinate in masala for another 2 hours minimum. We can also leave it to marinate over night. (Or 5 to 8 hours).

6.     Place a pan on burner, turn on the flame to LOW mode. Pour 3 tablespoons of oil, shake the pan a little so that oil spreads evenly over the pan. Let oil get little warm.

7.     Take skewers (sharp bamboo sticks available in stores) and start sticking chicken pieces one by one to the skewers. In one skewer we can stick in 5 to 6 pieces. So, we would need 3 or 4 skewers.

8.     Place each skewer with chicken piece, on the pan, side by side.

9.     Start rotating each of the skewers after every 10 seconds, so that chicken pieces get fried on all sides evenly. Do this for next 10 minutes.

By this time all the chicken pieces would have got fried evenly.

Transfer the fried chicken pieces to a plate and its time to taste the tasty Lebanese style kebab.
